Having a good grasp of your camera's current status can help us quickly figure out if everything is working as it should. The colour and blinking speed of the indicator light share valuable information regarding the camera's condition:
The indicator light can show red, white, or a combination of red & white.
The blinking speed can be either fast (twice per second) or slow (once per second). The light may also stay solid (not blinking), which usually indicates a stable connection or, in some cases, an abnormal state depending on the color.
🔴 When the indicator light shows red
Slow blinking – Red light blinks slowly means the camera is ready to connect to WiFi.
👉 Place the camera on a stable surface, ensure there are no strong lights or reflections nearby. Hold the QR code from your phone 10–20 cm in front of the lens and move it slowly until the camera scans it.Fast blinking – Red light blinks fast indicates that the camera is upgrading its firmware.
👉 The firmware upgarde process usually takes 3-5 minutes. During this time, make sure both the power and network signal are stable. Do not disconnect power or WiFi, otherwise the upgrade may fail.No blinking (solid red) – The camera may be in an abnormal status.
👉 Try changing the power adapter and data cable. Avoid using fast charging or high-power plugs. If the issue persists, please reach out to our support team.
⚪ When the indicator light shows white
Slow blinking – White light blinks slowly means the camera cannot find a WiFi signal and is unable to connect to the router.
👉 Please nsure:
Your WiFi frequency band is 2.4GHz
The WiFi name consists only of letters and numbers (no special characters)
If this doesn’t help, try connecting with your mobile hotspot.
Fast blinking – White light blinks fast means the camera is unable to connect to the server.
👉 Ensure:
Your router network is working properly
No firewall or restriction is blocking the camera
You’re not connected to a public WiFi that requires login authentication
No blinking (solid white) – The camera is successfully connected. 🎉 You can now start using it to keep an eye on your garden, pets, and loved ones.
⚠️ Note: If the white light is solid but the camera still shows offline in the app, this could be due to unstable network or voltage. Try unplugging the power, wait 10–15 seconds, then plug it back in and check again.
🔴⚪ When the indicator light alternates red and white
Depending on your firmware version, the meaning may differ:
-
Firmware 4.4.x and above:
Fast alternating red & white (brief, then stops): Incorrect WiFi password.
Slow alternating red & white: WiFi module may be damaged.
White slow blinking only: Device does not support 5GHz WiFi, please connect to 2.4GHz WiFi.
-
Firmware below 4.4.x:
Slow alternating red & white: Incorrect WiFi password.
White slow blinking only: Connected to 5GHz WiFi by mistake (switch to 2.4GHz).
If it still blinks white slowly even on 2.4GHz WiFi, the WiFi module may be damaged.
