Applicable Product: Nooie smart security cameras equipped with a motorized pan mechanism and Motion Tracking capability.
When Motion Tracking is turned on, the camera automatically follows movement within its field of view.
During this process, you may notice that the camera only rotates horizontally, rather than tilting up or down. This behavior is normal and part of the camera’s design.
How the Feature Works
Motion Tracking relies on the camera’s motorized pan function. When motion is detected, the lens follows the subject by rotating left or right. Vertical movement is not included in this feature. The camera maintains a fixed tilt angle while tracking.
Why Vertical Tracking Isn’t Supported
This limitation is by design. Supporting vertical auto-tracking requires additional hardware and structure, which can affect stability, performance, and overall durability. To ensure smoother tracking and longer product lifespan, the camera focuses on delivering reliable horizontal motion tracking.
What You Can Do
If motion frequently appears above or below the current view, you can adjust the tilt angle manually in the live view page. Once adjusted, the camera will continue to track horizontally from the new position.
If you have feedback or would like to see vertical motion tracking in future versions, feel free to share it with our support team—we love hearing what would improve your experience.
